Finding Time to Workout

Submitted by Lanny
Fri, 22 Dec 2006

We've all been there before. You decide to start a regular exercise program, buy all the latest fitness gear and join the best health club in town. Even with the greatest intentions you still don't make it to the gym in the next three weeks.

There's great news for those with busy schedules. New research indicates shorter more intense workouts are more effective than previously prescribed long duration lower intensity training. Those who couldn't find time in the past for that dreaded hour long session now need only free up 15-20 minutes from their busy schedules. Shorter, more intense training, such as interval training or weightlifting is superior for increasing cardiovascular fitness, building lean muscle mass and reducing body fat.

To make it easy, get yourself an exercise calender and schedule in your 15-20 minutes each day preferably in advance. Because the newer workouts are much shorter you shouldn't have to make any major lifestyle changes to accomodate them. With a little creative thinking and planning a power packed shorter duration high intensity workout fits easily into anyone's schedule.
