Hair loss is something that affects thousands of men and woman every day. Often times we feel helpless because we feel like there’s nothing that can be done. However it’s important to understand that this just isn’t true. There are many things that can be done to either prevent hair loss or treat it once it starts. Below are just a few of the things that can be done to fight hair loss.

Preventative measures

Diet is always important. Many times hair loss is caused by a nutrition deficiency. This is why it’s important to eat a well balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables. Vitamin supplements are also another option for people. However it’s always better to get your vitamins from a food source.

You can also get shampoos or conditions with special nutrients that are supposed to prevent hair loss. They’re designed to put the vitamins directly back into the hair and scalp.

Treatments

Rogaine is perhaps the most popular treatment for hair loss. Also known as Minoxidil, it can be used by both men and women. It comes in liquid form and should be applied to the scalp twice a day.

Another treatment option is Propecia. It’s been on the market since 1997 and is used primarily in males.

Studies have shown that both of these treatment options work very well. Like with any medication, it’s always important to consult a doctor before you start, to discuss any potential side effects.

Transplants

Transplants are an option if you’re looking to get done all at once. The upside it that the success rate is very high, but on the other hand, they can be rather expensive as well at painful.
Stem Cell Therapy

This is a new and very controversial approach to treating hair loss. Here stem cells are used to replace damaged or dead cell on the head. While this approach is still very new, the preliminary results look promising.

It’s no need to feel helpless when facing the possibility of hair loss. Don’t be afraid to looking into one of these treatment options today. You’ll be glad you did.
