Headache And Migraine Release Through NLPSubmitted by alanden Tue, 14 Aug 2007
Even if our brain itself is not sensitive to pain, other regions of the skull such as the scalp, face, mouth and throat have nerve fibers that are sensitive to pain and which can ache. Headache - or cephalgia - ordinarily means any form of pain that would appear in one or several of these sensitive regions of the skull.
Headaches can be belong to one of two groups: Primary headaches, to which stress headache, cluster headache and migraine headache belong and which are not caused by any other condition; And Secondary headaches which are caused by a disease. Headaches are the most usual nervous affection. Everyone will be affected by headache at one point in their life, but for 55 million Americans, it is a recurring experience. The World Health Organization claims that one adult in 20 suffers from frequent headaches, with females being more at risk than men. Headaches can be highly handicapping and may very negatively affect the lives of persons who suffer from them. Work capacity is lessened for such persons, which can negatively affect their financial situation. Social skills are also reduced as the pain, or the fear thereof, may make people more likely to be upset. Some people who have migraine even have to always be careful about what they eat, what they see, and last but not least what they smell, as certain strong or disagreeable sensations may trigger pain. Since headaches are perceived as such an ordinary, benign disease, the persons who suffer from them on a regular basis also have to endure the incomprehension of their friends and relatives. This social barrier may also prevent people from getting medical attention and looking for an appropriate treatment. However before it can be treated, a headache needs to be "identified". We have seen before that there were two particular kinds of headache: Primary and Secondary, each divided in turn into numerous other subcategories. Their symptoms may differ as well as their causes and, naturally, the way they can be treated. This is the reason why they have to be diagnosed by a doctor so that you can receive proper treatment. Stress headache, also referred to as tension headache, is the most ordinary kind of primary headache and is the cause for nearly 90% of all headaches. It is traditionally considered to be related to stress or related to muscular and skeletal problems in the neck. Tension headache is mainly momentary and may persist from a few minutes to a few hours, but may last for many days in the most acute cases. It is usually described as a constant pressure, most commonly on each side of the head, or spreading around it, sometimes also extending to the neck. Migraine is slightly different and is thought to most certainly have a genetic origin. Migraines occur when the brain releases pain causing inflammatory substances, which spread to the nerves and vessels of the head. Migraine usually occurs once a month and lasts for a few hours, with corollary symptoms such as nausea and intolerance of regular levels of light and noise. Cluster headaches generally happen frequently and are short lasting. They are also extremely painful. They happen in clusters of 6 to 12 weeks every one or two years, usually at the same time of the year. The pain is excessively severe and affects the whole head, typically beginning in the eye, and then spreading to the forehead, nose and mouth. It is much more uncommon than some other kinds of headache and primarily affects men. Headaches are typically treated with over-the-counter painkillers such as aspirin, ibuprofen or paracetamol. A doctor may also prescribe avoiding some typical causes of headaches like noise or some sorts of foods. Caffeine, Magnesium and Vitamin B2 have also proven useful in order to treat migraine. Drugs are however not cheap and can have undesired side effects, especially for people who must use them on an everyday basis. This is the reason why you might want to think about another way of avoiding the numerous kinds of headache. NLP and Hypnosis were indeed shown to be working and will help you to dissipate pain in any part of your body, including the head, as well as trying to be more relaxed meanwhile. Stress is one of the first causes of headache, and adequate hypnotic techniques have been developed to dissipate both stress and headaches quickly. People who have migraine or cluster headache can generally feel the first symptoms before the migraine actually happens, and may learn self-hypnosis techniques to get rid of them before they get too painful. Hypnotherapists who understand how handicapping a headache can be have developed these therapeutic techniques. Hypnotherapy is a drug free method of treatment that will help you to find the relief you have been looking for. Headache is a grave condition with several variations, concerning millions of people worldwide. Learn to overcome it and to relax with the soothing method of self hypnosis. About the Author
