Rituals are society's way of teaching and maintaining the culture. To restore the matrilineal lines of initiation (old women teaching young women) rituals are essential. A menarche (first menstruation) ritual can make this time easier and more meaningful for both the young women beginning menstruation, and her mother. Such a ritual comforts the young woman and lets her know that her feelings are natural and have been shared by women throughout time.

The female reproductive system is indeed marvelous. Every month the ovaries produce one egg which is deposited in the fallopian tube. The uterine wall known as the endometrium thickens and there is increased blood circulation in the entire reproductive system. This is all in preparation of a pregnancy. However, if the woman does not get pregnant, then all these things need to be expelled from the body. This is known as the period. Once the expulsion is done, the ovaries produce a new egg and the cycle continues for another month.

The pain is felt in the lower abdomen, possibly extending to the hips, lower back or thighs. Some may also experience nausea, fever, vomiting, diarrhea and body aches. Mild abdominal cramps on the first two days of your menses are nothing to be worried about but, there are almost 10 % of girls out there who get unable to manage their routine tasks unless they take some medication.

The doctor may also ask the patient to keep a calendar of her bleeding history to keep track of any pain during the month, length of her periods, bleeding between periods and how many days are between periods. Patients are also asked to rate the amount of flow on the days of her period.

Any major player in causing acne can be diet. Studies have shown that acne occurs more frequently during the week before menstruation and these conditions remain present for about a week. Eating healthier around this time should help but it is best to have a balanced diet overall and not just at this time. If you eat healthily it will be obvious by your skin. Ensure you provide your body with the nutrients it needs like vitamins, minerals and supplements.

The only possible adverse consequence of roller ball surgery is when the surgeon misses a small area of the uterus. This may seem inconsequential as all you have to do is have the surgery repeated. Another downside of the roller ball surgery is that preparation for it involves the injection of the drug called Lupron into the patient.

Chinese doctors believe that menstrual cramps and pain are due to stagnation of the liver-qi and retention of blood stasis in the interior. Curcuma root has been used to relieve pain by promoting blood circulation, restoring depressed liver by invigorating the flow of qi, and clearing away heat in the blood and heart.

Study shows that women who take Vitamin E two days before menstruation continuously and three days after the onset of menstruation, was significantly effective in relieving menstrual pain.
