How to Treat Scabies if it ocures?

Salaries substantive fall into several different categories: news \ "pesticides \" systemic applications \ "compressed \" doses, which have the advantage of the coverage provided, and less toxic treatment for 10% of sulfur ointment, at a cost of treatment with at least long-term side effects.Topical (surface) are often effective drugs and must be applied to all skin of the face down, especially in areas known to be mainly affected (skin folds, etc.). Topical medications of choice is 5% permethrin because it is safe for all age groups: it should be applied for eight to twelve hours (at night is the most convenient) and then washed.

Lindane (Hexachlorocyclohexane) creams or lotions are considered historical treatment, and should be avoided, because they have proven to have neurotoxic effects in children and infants, Lindane is no longer available in the UK or Australia, but it is still available in the United States. Similarly, 5-10% sulfur ointments are considered historic. Should be launched four weeks after treatment.

Although the mites are quickly killed by treatment, the itching can last up to four weeks after treatment. A single dose of ivermectin (dosage: 200 µ g / kg) have been reported to heal, but it is an off-label use, some authorities recommend repeating the process to 14 days.

Additional topical treatments include 10% crotamiton (except for the eyes, nose, mouth), 25% benzyl benzoate cream or lotion.

A person can be re-infected with scabies: all household contacts should be treated simultaneously, even if asymptomatic.

Below is a list of treatment in the order of most harmful to more secure.

Lindane: (Kwell, Kwellada). It has been linked to 17 deaths by the American government FDA (3 were caused by lindane positively, although lindane was not used as prescribed in cases) [1].
Malathion: Common pesticides, the nervous system toxin in large quantities, does not know the mutagenic and carcinogenic properties in humans have been confirmed. [2]
Permethrin: Another lack of carcinogenic pesticide tests in humans showed that the animals test negative, toxicity can resemble allergic reactions. [3]
Crotamiton (Eurax ®): Less toxic, but less effective. Must use for about 3 days. [4]
benzoate: Less toxic, but can cause allergic reactions and asthma. Must use for a week on the 1st, 4th and 7th day. [Edit]
Ivermectin (Stromectol ®): Oral dewormer. Gale Newest treatment. More confident that all of the foregoing and the fastest and easiest to use. [Edit]
10% sulfur ointment: Safest treatment. Non-toxic. Used for pregnant women and infants less than two months old, but effective in all cases to use for 7 days. Cheapest treatment. Over the counter treatment. Can be used as often as you like without any toxicity. Cons: messy, stain clothing, so we should \ 'use of white sheets and T-shirts. [Edit]
steroids or corticosteroids should not be used to combat itching. They can cause a weakened immune system create a variety of new diseases and the worst kind of scabies. The options include antihistamines such as cetirizine. Prescription: Doxepin (oral or topical).

In the absence of a host, scabies mites survive for a few hours in the environment (mites, dry quickly). Therefore, it is recommended that, after treatment, to wash all documents (such as clothes and bedding), which was prolonged contact with infected in the last four days.

Approximately 300 million cases of scabies infestation occur each year worldwide.

Gale also occurs in dogs; see article on Mange. Chien mites can easily be transferred to humans. Although the mites that infect dogs are not able to complete their life cycle on humans, they will cause a lot of itching before they eventually die. Dogs with mange must be treated to prevent continuously re-infect humans.
