Infrared sauna therapy is quickly becoming the prime choice for anyone in the market for a day spa or personal sauna of their own. An infrared sauna differs from a traditional sauna in that it does not use heat rocks or water vapor to heat the user. It, instead, uses a special heat lamp which emits FAR infrared rays. These rays penetrate beneath the skin by up to 45mm. This penetration has a multitude of benefits over a traditional sauna. Benefits such as spot treating pain, cleansing the skin, increase metabolism, stimulate the breakdown of fat and cellulite and much much more.

The list doesn't end there. An individual who routinely visits a spa for infrared sauna therapy, combined with a healthy diet and exercise regime, will not only feel the mental and physical stress reduction of relaxation, but their skin, blood, and internal organs will realize a large decrease in harmful toxins and chemicals. An infrared sauna session also allows the blood vessels to dialate, which nearly doubles cardiovascular circulation. Although one won't increase muscle tone with an infrared therapy session, the increased blood flow excersices the heart and is a good replacement for those who are unable to exercise.

Infrared saunas are also able to operate at a much lower temperature than traditional saunas, yet still remain effective. The penetrating effects of the FAR infrared rays are very efficient at normal operation. The technology is such that the rays penetrate only that which is in front of it, which usually is the person inside the sauna. This allows for a much lower ambient temperature. This feature alone gives infrared saunas a large advantage over a traditional one. Many people who are turned off by the immense heat generated by a traditional sauna will feel very comfortable in it's infrared cousin.
