They say that a woman's beauty is reflected in the quality of her skin, prompting millions the world over to purchase anti-aging lotions and undergo rigorous firming up programs as part of their skincare regime. To look glorious is worth a million dollars, and never before has the pressure to look good been as great as it now. With the myriad of skin care products on the shelves how can we know which is the best for us?

It is important to know that not all skin is the same. Skin types fall into the following categories:

1. dry
2. oily
3. normal

With cleansers, toners, lotions, moisturizers, face packs, wrinkle creams to name but a few the primary aim of the Beauty Industry is to firm up the dermis and provide much needed nutrition. It needn't be hard, however. Read these tips to make sure you maximize your looks and ensure your skin is at its best and glowing.

1. Be specific: once you know the type of skin you have, you can apply lotions made from some of the most advanced formulas available in order to maximize the feel of your skin and ensure a positive cutaneous effect. You can easily match the lotion that is ideal for your skin type. For dry skin for example among the many lotions that are available for the skin is body lotion, used after a bath or shower. Why is this necessary? On weekends when lazing in the tub, think of the wrinkles which can appear on the skin of your fingers and toes. Body lotion is perfect to replace the essential oils lost during a bath and therefore ideal for dry skins.

2. Milk is not just a drink! In olden times many women wanted to look like the Egyptian princess Cleopatra who was renowned to sport the best skin in the world. When Hollywood made a film about her they chose another beauty, Liz Taylor, whose skin was known as "milk and honey". Milk baths (Ass's milk at the time) have been popular ever since. It may be the effect on the sebaceous glands or merely the rejuvenation that is afforded by this liquid. Soak in a bath of milk to allow your skin absorb the good nutritional properties of milk. The experience may feel foreign to start with but the effect will be far reaching. Give it a try!

3. Play the field: there is a body lotion for all different skin types and pigmentation. They are available in a wide array of colors and scents to suit your mood and also come with sunscreen and protection from ultraviolet rays. Nowadays dermatologists and skin care specialists emphasize more and more the importance of this protective aspect of body lotions and moisturizers.

4. Babies are best: for delicate egg white like skin dermatologists have tried and tested baby lotions and have certified them to be the best as measured by delicateness and effectiveness. Babies have very sensitive and delicate skin and the lotions used on them are tested in laboratories and certified by expert dermatologists before they come to the market packaged as baby skin care products. Instead of harsh chemicals loaded with side effects that can damage the skin, baby lotions are all organic. Even the choice of fragrances are disposed of or toned down in view of the sensitivity of their skins. Any chemical content or slightly heightened fragrance could cause irritation and also block their pores. It is well worth trying baby products on your skin.

5. Don't forget the hands the hands are the most active part of the body and do most of our daily work. They can easily dehydrate and become dry, projecting an old look. A big no no! In fact dry skin on the hands is a common problem as it comes directly in contact with water, chemicals and soap several times a day. There are countless lotions for the hands, and following the tips shared above choose a non greasy skin lotion that provides instant relief as the skin absorbs it easily and effortlessly.
