Swelling in the joints commonly is diagnosed as arthritis. As there are many conditions that can be attributed to arthritis it covers many differing situations. The scope of the disease does not focus itself on just the joints as it can affect other areas such as bones, muscles and internal organs to name a few and of course the commonly known rheumatoid arthritis.
Arthritis is usually associated with pain of some description. Acute pain is basically temporary. Thus those we feel for a couple of minutes or more could be categorized under this section. Most feel grateful to have this level of arthritic discomfort when they learn how much worse it can be for some. This is not to lessen what pain people go through with this disease as it may last for days, months or even years. Chronic pain is another matter entirely with serious implications. The implications of chronic pain reverberate across peoples lives causing job loss, relationship strain and many other life altering situations.There are several causes of chronic arthritis pain. The pain may derive from the inflammation of the joints and the synovium membrane, ligaments and sinews, fatigue and muscle strain. A combination of all these factors could add to worsening the experienced pain.Each patient experiences a different kind of pain from that of another patient. Some contributors to worsening the pain are the measure of redness or heat present in the joints, swelling of the joints, or the degree of harm that has occurred in the affected area. Surgery- Often, for patients suffering extreme cases of arthritis surgery is offered as the last and lasting resort. The operation normally aims to remove the synovium, fix the misaligned joint or on special cases, replaced the damaged joint using an artificial one. Exercise- Some exercises could help in the lessening of joint pain and the accompanying stiffness. Exercises that also promote stretching could contribute to faster relief.
