Good sleeping patterns improve memory and your ability to learn. Sleeping may seem like a straightforward process but while your consciousness is in a state of relaxation, your subconscious is busy processing and comprehending information. Therefore, by improving the quality of your sleep, you will also improve your ability to learn. Good sleep also reduces the risk of infections, diabetes, heart disease, exhaustion and other conditions. Just like healthy eating and exercise, a good mattress is a vital investment in your health and wellbeing.

A good night's sleep is not only essential for your inner wellbeing though. You also need 'beauty sleep' to slow down the aging process on your body. As you sleep, your cells regenerate and your face muscles relax helping your body feel more alert and refreshed. Below are some tips on how you can best utilize the space around you to get a good night's rest:

1.)Create your own personal sanctuary.
The bedroom is a place for rest and relaxation and should be a retreat where you can go to rejuvenate your body and soul after a long, hectic day. Choose the bed that fits your needs the best. Create atmosphere by using soft lighting and get that cozy feeling from textiles like bedspreads, cushions and rugs. If you want your bedroom to be your hide-away retreat or a light and airy room, add in some contemporary bedroom furniture to better create that feel.

2.)Get organized.
Make sure you have storage like nightstands, dressers and other elements to help you organize your clothes, shoes, books and other personal items. The bedroom should be a place for rest and relaxation where a good night's sleep prepares you for the following day.

3.)De-clutter your room - and your mind.
Clutter is off limits in the bedroom. To clear your mind, you have to clear your room. Relax in a clutter-free zone where there's space for everything. Let your wardrobe go all the way up to the ceiling. Add drawers to your nightstand. Use boxes and baskets with lids for jewelry and small items of clothing. Now that everything is hidden and in its proper place, you can really relax.

While bedroom solutions will more or less depend on the specific person, these simple steps can drastically reduce any stress associated with your bedroom. Take a trip to a variety of urban furniture stores and invest in bedroom accessories that not only look great, but are functional and versatile as well. This will help you get organized so you can start getting the satisfying sleep of person content within their space.
