Stop Smoking, Feel Better

Submitted by Steph Green

When you first decide that you are going to stop smoking you may not feel better. In fact, you may feel worse. Although you have to go through this withdrawal process, soon enough you will realize that it was for the better. In no time at all you will begin to realize that your health is improving and that your life as a whole is getting better.

When you smoke you are increasing your chance of contracting multiple diseases. In addition to cancer, you have to worry about issues with your heart. As you know, all of these illnesses are very serious. The sooner you stop smoking, the better chance you have of avoiding these issues altogether.

Need help getting started? Here are a few tips:

* Don't be shy about enlisting the help of your doctor. Your primary care physician can give you tips and advice on eliminating smoking from your life.
* Experiment with different methods of quitting. By doing this, you will eventually find the strategy that works best for you.
* Set goals for yourself. Quitting cold turkey is not always simple to do. When you set short term goals, though, it is easier to stay on track and eventually move away from smoking altogether.

If you want to feel better, both mentally and physically, you should give up smoking. Replace this with something that will do your body good, such as working out. When you stop smoking you are going to feel better - no questions asked!
