Fungi Away This Holiday

Submitted by gonzaga.marco

The low temperature of the approaching holiday season can dampen socks while lifting spirits. As such, the excess moisture and dampness can provide fungi and bacteria with suitable breeding grounds. Keep yourself safe from all the itching and unsightly marks caused by fungal infections with the following tips:
1. Boost your immune system.

A healthy immune system can fight off excess yeast in the body. Unfortunately, fatigue and malnutrition can make your immune system weak and incapable of destroying the increasing fungi population. Getting enough rest and eating a well-balanced diet can boost your immune system and help you fight off yeast and other fungi that can potentially cause infections. Taking vitamin supplements like Vitamin C can increase your chances of boosting your immune system. In short, find time to sleep during the holidays and ease off the dessert table.
2. Change clothes regularly.

As much as possible, avoid wearing the same sweaty pair of socks or sweater even if you are just staying in for the day. Wearing dirty clothes encourages the growth of bacteria and fungi so better prevent this from happening. It is also advised to have at least two pairs of shoes or slippers that you can use alternately. This way, you allow your footwear time to dry up completely before putting them on again. Sweaty pairs do not dry immediately which makes for a damp environment that fungi thoroughly enjoy.
3. Use medications to treat fungal infections.

Fungal infections are best treated with ketoconazole – a medicine you can easily buy from an online pharmacy that sells discount drugs. Consult your doctor or a skin care specialist immediately for medication especially if the skin appears rough and scaly. Ketoconazole cream is the most effective treatment for many fungal infections so ask your doctor about it.
