The Cure for Male Andropause

Submitted by Alberto Maeses

Testosterone Replacement Therapy is a hormone treatment usually performed to middle-aged to old aged men for the resolve of forestalling the results of natural maturation. These outcomes are usually gone through by the time a man reaches the age of 70 where testosterone levels are at an all time lesser at just about 30 to 50 percent than they were when they were still young. The symptoms would include less erections, tiredness, decreasing muscle mass and strength, and added body fat. This decrease is frequently cited to as andropause or the male counterpart of menopause.

Male hormones are called androgen and are found usually in the bodies of men than in women. Testosterone is a natural hormone developed in the testes and adrenals. These androgens contribute to the secondary sexual characteristics in men which includes facial hair, develops muscle strength and mass, intensifies voice, muscularity, penile and scrotal growth, body hair, erecting of the penis, etc. Testosterone levels normally increase by the time of puberty and early adulthood and begin to decrease during the middle age and much more in old age thus the results of it also declines therefore begin the body's demand for testosterone replacement.

Although there are several risks to the treatment like increased blood pressure, raised cholesterol levels, thickening of the blood, and advancing the results of prostate cancer as well as other events like baldness, facial flushing, and prostatic hyperplasia, the therapy itself does seem to be very useful. One other contentious subject that testosterone replacement therapy poses is that of athletes who use testosterone replacement to enhance their physical state to better their skills in sports.

To conclude, testosterone replacement therapy does have its full swing of advantages yet, if used wrongly and exploited, they unremarkably present problems with health. Testosterone replacement is used only for people who cannot make their own testosterone due to circumstances that are inevitable.
