About impotence
Impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, is a condition where a man cannot sustain an erection long enough to have sex, or cannot have an erection at all. Men in their 40s may suffer an occasional incident of impotence, and in most cases, it is only a temporary condition. Impotence is sometimes caused by emotional or relationship problems, but if symptoms continue, then get your physician to look into the matter as the underlying psychological or physiological causes could be the problem.
Impotence causes emotional pain and issues between partners. If left untreated, not only can it cause physical complications, but self-esteem problems as well. It is only natural to not want to discuss sexual problems with your partner or your physician, but open communication is the key to finding an impotence cure that works for you.
Causes of impotence
Impotence treatment can be availed by all age groups. There are now successful treatments for this disorder which ensures that most men with the problem return to normal sexual activity. But prior to treatment the possible causes have to be established. Possible causes of impotence are:

  • Diseases such as diabetes mellitus, endocrine gland disorder, kidney disease, multiple sclerosis etc.

  • Problems with penis structure or its surrounding tissues that may prevent erection

  • Damage to arteries, smooth muscles and fibrous tissues, often because of disease, surgery or injury that interferes with nerve impulses or blood flow to the penis

  • Psychological or emotional factors like stress, anxiety, grief or problems with relationships.

  • Excessive consumption of alcohol or drug abuse

  • Obesity and smoking which affects blood flow

  • Side effect of some prescription drugs like high blood pressure drugs, antihistamines, antidepressants, tranquilizers, appetite suppressants, cimetidine, ulcer drug etc.

  • In men over 65 years, impotence can be caused by low levels of testosterone, which can be corrected by Hormone replacement therapy.

Cialis for impotence treatment
Cialis is one of the prescription drugs for treating erectile dysfunction. It has become quite popular among users due to its long lasting effects. The effects of Cialis can last in the body for about 36 hours. Sometimes, it is also called the ‘weekend pill’. Recently it has been approved in a once daily pill form which is expected to provide relief to men who suffer from severe erectile dysfunction problems. Cialis pills are available on cialis 10 mg and cialis 20 mg.
Precaution to take for impotence treatment
Like all drugs, Tadalafil (Cialis) is also contradicted with certain medications and therefore precaution need to be taken. Tell your doctor about all the medicines taken, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements, and also nitrates (often used for chest pain) or medicines for blood pressure, alpha blockers, antifungal, or medicines for HIV. This will help your doctor be aware of potential drug interactions.
Do not drink alcohol in excess (to a level of intoxication) when taking Cialis. Too much alcohol can increase your chances of:

  • Headache

  • Dizziness

  • Drop in blood pressure

  • Increased heart rate

As with any ED tablet, in the rare event of an erection lasting more than 4 hours, immediate precautionary medical help must be taken to avoid long-term injury.
