Erectile dysfunction and relationships

Submitted by JohnScott

There are many things in life that can be covered up if you fail. Unfortunately, the failure to get or keep an erection is not one of them. It's always obvious to your partner when you have suddenly lost hardness during sex or never managed to raise an erection in the first place. The first one or two times it happens, there may be nothing more than casual concern. But if the failures continue, the most common reaction is that you have lost your desire for your partner. The older the partner, the more insecurity there may be as age takes the sexual attractiveness of youth away. Even if you talk about the problem in general terms and declare your undying love, worry is going to gnaw away inside your partner's heart. You have to do something about the problem.

If you were to ask a doctor, the reply would almost certainly be that the problem is not that you have multiple lovers on the side or that you have stopped finding your partner attractive. Indeed, the repeated failures are also wearing you away, damaging your self-esteem because you have lost your erections. Performance anxiety consistently makes the problem worse. So you need to head over to your doctor for a check-up. The causes fall into four main categories:

Psychological - men who are stressed or tending into a depression often experience a loss of sexual desire. This problem is compounded because many of the drugs used to treat depression cause some degree of impotence as an adverse side effect.
An underlying physical disease or disorder can cause impotence. The most common is diabetes where the peripheral nervous system can be damaged, but testicular and prostate cancer, high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis, and heart disease can affect sexual performance. It is relatively straightforward for your doctor to test for the more common causes. All are relatively unusual in younger men.
Performance can be affected by some drugs or the way in which different drugs interact. Smoking and an excess of alcohol also drop the blood pressure and can produce erectile dysfunction.
There can be an injury from an accident or the erectile dysfunction can be a complication following surgery.
If the more serious causes of dysfunction are eliminated, this clears the way for treatment with cialis. This comes in two versions. One is taken as required and returns the ability to produce an erection for periods of up to thirty-six hours. The other is a lower dosage, once-daily tablet that allows sexual responsiveness at any time. All clinical trials confirm that the erections are as firm as before and partners find their fears were groundless. Nevertheless, you kept the relationship on a steady course by discussing the difficulty from the moment it because obvious to the two of you. By offering emotional support and confirming your continuing love for your partner, you kept the relationship going despite the fears. Hopefully, you also included your partner in the consultation with the doctor so that the reassurance could continue. With the cialis now available, whether by prescription or bought online, you can now be back to your old loving ways in a stronger relationship.
