The research, which was performed by the Centre for Research on Ageing and Gender at the University of Surrey, suggests that people whose partners snore can lose two (2) years of sleep in the course of a lifetime.

The research estimates many people, mainly women, every night are woken regularly by their partners snoring. Those affected lose around an hour of sleep every night.
Calculation shows that those unlucky enough to sleep next to a snorer would lose around 15 days sleep every year. Most snorers are unaware of the problems that their snoring can cause their sleeping partner. Many snorers just don't realize how much they affect their partner's health and disrupt their sleep. Worse still, they do not understand how dangerous snoring can be for their own health. Snoring is related to decrease in quality of life in the form of cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, headache, migraine, stress sleep apnea and premature death.
The University of Surreys, Susan Venn, found that despite the risks associated with snoring, many men she interviewed found it to be an acceptable part of life. She also found that many of their wives had developed some rather elaborate ways of coping with the problem, such as separate bedroom. Other studies estimate that Twenty-five per cent sleep separately, while half admit it affects their relationship
