Top 2 Types of Hair Loss

Submitted by rss41

Recent research has shown that 2 out of every three individuals will suffer from some form of hair loss during their lifetime. From this we can deduce that whether you are a child or an adult, you are bound to lose your hair one day. That leads us to asking what we can do to prevent the incident except you are someone who thinks it is better to have a bald head. If you are one of those, then, don't even bother to read this as it is strictly for those who are interested in keeping their tresses. There are various causes of hair loss, some avoidable, others not so avoidable. The various types can give you an idea of what to do if you eventually start the process of hair loss.

1. Hair loss as a result of hormonal imbalance. This is very common among women who are pregnant and among men who are n their post puberty stage. Most women as a result of the hormonal changes hey go through when they are pregnant, tend to lose their hair. Some are lucky and find that instead of losing it, they are actually growing it faster. However, for women who suffer from hair loss during pregnancy, it is advisable to stop worrying as it is only a phase as I am sure the doctor would have said. Once the woman puts to bed, the body will go back to its normal cycle enabling her to be able to regrow her hair without stress.
As for the men, see he doctor as soon as possible as it is usually as a result of excess secretion of the Dihydrotestoterone (DHT). This is a by product of the male hormone known as the Testosterone. This hormone is responsible for the production o male secondary characteristics.

2. Chronic Telogen Effluvium. This occurs mostly as a result of blood los during menstruation. Therefore, it is said to be exclusive to the women. It is frequently noticed as bald spots and thinning. The reason this usually occurs to the women is hat they lose lots of iron along with he blood during menstruation. Unfortunately, most do not take iron supplements which will replenish the depleted iron quantity in the body. The lack of iron in the body is what causes the hair to fall off.
The think about this kind of hair loss is it happens over time. So, women who have made it a habit to avoid or neglect iron sources have a tendency to develop it. Thankfully, it is a reversible syndrome. Once the iron stock is restocked by taking lots of iron supplements which is available in meat and green leafy vegetables, the hair lost will be easily replaced.
