It is a known fact that maintaining good health is important and people consciously inculcate good habits to ensure that they stay healthy. They avoid unhealthy and junk food and stick to healthy options to keep fit and avoid diseases. They also include an exercise regimen in their daily lives, the aim being to build muscles and stay healthy. But one important aspect often overlooked is sleep. Sleep is extremely essential and getting restful sleep in a quality bed is necessary to rid your body of fatigue.

Lots of people suffer from insomnia and they spend the night tossing and turning in their beds. People relate sleeplessness with their coffee consumption, late night TV viewing and stress. But no one sits back and thinks whether their bed or mattress is comfortable enough to give them a good night's sleep. If you are unable to get 6-8 hours of restful sleep at night, it is time to check your bed or mattress. The culprit may be your old and uncomfortable bed. There are various types of beds and mattresses available in the market. You need to check which is most comfortable for you, before buying.

Mattresses are made from different types of material and they can be soft, medium and hard. Do not opt for a hard mattress if you uncomfortable with it. Check at different stores and test whether you are comfortable with a soft, semi-hard or a hard mattress, as it might not be possible to exchange it, if you are uncomfortable later on. Often, it happens that changing your mattress can make a lot of difference to your sleep pattern and once you get a new pair which is comfortable, you end up getting restful sleep. If you are sleeping in an old bed which has started to sag, causing you back pain or stiff joints, it would be best to get a new bed.

There have been cases where people who suffered from various problems like back pain, stiff joints or frozen shoulder, were relieved of that nagging problem, once they got a new bed or mattress. If you are unable to get restful sleep, check your bed/ mattress and replace them if needed.
