Natural Treatment for InsomniaSubmitted by justinkenedy Fri, 12 Jun 2009
People who experience difficulty in sleeping, and also those who are waking up in the middle of the night, which result to their inability to enjoy sufficient sleep, may have Insomnia. This could have been caused by stress, alcohol, medications, medical problems, depression, or disproportionate use of stimulants. And as a result, people with Insomnia are more often irritable and tired. Some even experience difficulty in doing their daily tasks while others feel a decrease in their mental alertness.
There are many home remedies for insomnia, many people prefer to take a sleeping pill and knock out. Of course this gets you to sleep maybe faster but the quality and the quantity of sleep is greatly reduced. Also it's not a long term solution which I think is why you are reading this article. No one wants to have insomnia it can significantly impact your health and your life. Remedies: 1. Taking a bath before sleep and rubbing your body dry with your palms can also help induce sleep. A cup of hot water or hot milk can also immediately before retiring to bed. 2. Among the many home remedies for insomnia, learning to do some type of relaxation exercise would benefit you immensely. Once you are in bed it is important to turn off the mind. Do not think about what you are going to do when you get into the office the next morning. Deep breathing, muscle stretches, or yoga may help. 3. Take some juice of the leaves of the Indian sorrel along with its oil, in equal contents and store this in a bottle. Now, massage this oil into the scalp every night before retiring to bed. This will soothe the brain leading to a good sleep. 4. Modifying behavior may be one of the biggest answers that can readily cure Insomnia. A good and balanced diet can help in treatment. The diet should include lots of fruits and vegetables. And people with Insomnia should also stay away from fatty foods, flour products, and food that contains a lot of sugar and additives. 5. You put in the CD, turn it on, and then slip into bed. The sound waves from the track will immediately make their way toward your brain and begin altering it's electrical pulses. These soundwaves will "teach" your brain how to be less active through a pattern of rhythmic beats and pulsating tones, thereby allowing you to go to sleep easier and stay asleep longer. 6. An early rise from bed has to form part of the early to bed routine. If it is too difficult to get out of bed at a set time, then use an alarm clock or ask a family member to assist you. When the alarm goes off, do not press snooze, wake up and get going with the exercise. 7. Take some fried cumin seeds and grind them to a fine powder. Now, mix them with the pulp of a ripe banana. Take this paste at night and get a restful sleep.
