Long-term effects of sleep deficiency are diabetes … weakened immune system … obesity … and cognitive problems (inability to store and maintain long-term memories).”

Sleep problems can generally be classified under four different types:

* Problems with staying and falling asleep

* Problems with staying awake

* Problems with adhering to a regular sleep schedule

* Sleep disruptive behaviors

There are many ways to solve these sleep problems such as getting regular exercise, doing meditation, practicing relaxation techniques before bedtime, avoiding sleep-disturbing substances like alcohol and caffeine, and in some cases people resort to prescription drugs. But, prescription may cause addiction and dependence. Furthermore, some drugs may have harmful side effects.

But some of the aforementioned solutions are either difficult to do or are unsafe.
