Gingko belongs to the genus of lots of unusual non-flowering plants. Gingko is a species G.Biloba which is known as living fossils.

Now gingko plays an important role in several conditions like in scientific investigation and many others. The gingko is used for memory enhancement , altitude sickness, in symptoms of premenstrual syndrome etc. It is also beneficial in reducing the usage of chemotherapy cancer patients. Gingko also helps in the treatment of tinnitus as per the reports available but this fact is still survived by different opinions. Gingko is actually a herb, so one should use it cautiously as reports of bleeding came out in several cases while treating the patients while doing anticoagulant therapy.

Still lots of medical reports denies the usage of ginkgo in women while having breastfeeding and during the time of pregnancy. So pregnant women are advised not to use it in pregnancy time as it may lead to bleeding. One should not by mistake even consume the leaves of gingko. As reports of gingko intake in adults shows minor symptoms having headache, nausea, and in few cases intestinal complaints.

One should also know that gingko has the ability of affecting the insulin and blood sugar level in the body. Before consuming one should read the precautions mentioned especially in the patient's of diabetes and hypoglycemia. It is important to know for those people who has the regular intake of drugs, herbs and supplements affecting the blood sugar level of the body.
