Can you imagine that anyone would lie in bed at night and hope that they might experience a panic attack at some point in their life? No, I can't either. Unfortunately, however, anxiety attacks are all too common and they can ultimately take over your life. If you want to prevent panic attacks from ruining your life, here are the 5 questions you need to ask yourself:

1. Are you facing too many responsibilities?

The number one cause for panic attacks is perhaps stress. There is no question that the responsibilities of modern day life can take their toll on you. To reduce the amount of stress in your life, try to spread out the number of responsibilities you decide to take on. This will allow you to take a breather every now and again, and will ultimately allow you to work more efficiently.

2. Do you need a helping hand?

There is nothing wrong with asking for help every now and then. Regardless of what it is that you may need a helping hand with, don't be afraid. There will always be someone there to help you and support you; all you need do is ask. The last thing you should do is let your pride get in the way of asking for assistance from a friend of family member. Lighten your load and let someone help you.

3. Do the people around you offer emotional support?

All of us need emotional support to ensure that we're doing the right thing and are ok. It can be tough to face the daily stresses of modern day life on your own. This is where it becomes so important to have someone to talk to. In order to stop anxiety attacks from happening to you anymore, you should find someone you can lean on when times get tough.

4. Is fun in your agenda?

No matter how busy your schedule is, it is vitally important that you make time for fun and entertainment. Loosening up and having a good time can release a great deal of pressure and can completely eliminate any bottled up emotions you may be carrying around. Whether it's going to the movies to watch the latest comedy, or having a drink with friends, or walking in the sunshine at the park, find something that you enjoy and that helps you to relax and take your mind off things.

5. Are you taking care of your body?

The final question you should ask yourself if you want to prevent your panic attacks from becoming a frequent problem in your life is whether or not you are taking care of your body properly. A healthy lifestyle involves getting at least 8 hours sleep each night, eating a healthy balanced diet and exercising at least three to four times a week. While you certainly need to get your work done, your health is much more important.
