Build Stronger Muscles and A Stonger Immune System With Amino Acids

Amino acids are responsible for making up ever living cell and are the basis of life itself. These nutrients are the most important in the body. They are the building blocks of the protein that is needed to create cells, enzymes, and hormones. A weakness can develop if a single amino acid is missing. Proteins play a crucial role in bodily functions. A proper balance of amino acids is necessary in order to benefit the blood, the skin, and the immune and digestive systems.

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, combining in a condensation reaction, which occurs through dehydration synthesis, that releases water and leaving the new amino acid residue to be held together by a peptide bond. Each type of protein is defined by its unique sequence of amino acid residue. This sequence is what makes up the primary structure of each protein. Amino acids are able to be linked in a variety of sequences, which leaves the ability to form a huge array of proteins. These nutrients are typically classified by the properties of their side chain. From this, they are classified into four groups: a weak acid, a weak base, a hyrophile if they are polar, and a hydrophobe if they are nonpolar. The chemical structures of the twenty-one standard amino acids have been cataloged in the list of standard amino acids.

In the early 1800s, the first few amino acids were disovered. The French chemists Louis-Nicolas Vauguelin and Pierre Jean Robiquet isolated a compound in asparagus in 1806 that proved to be asparagines, which is the first amino acid to be discovered. From there, other amino acids found early were cystine in 1810, glycine and leucine in 1820, and cysteine in 1884.

Amino acids have been neglected in nutritional research. However, amino acids are being recognized today as a great power in restoring and maintaining good health. These nutrients are responsible for aiding in the assimilation and the utilization of other nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. Amino acids have also been able to benefit many maladies. Among these include arthritis, anxiety, cancer, chronic fatigue, candidiasis, behavioral disorders, attention deficit disorder, autoimmune disease, chemical sensitivity, learning disorders, eating disorders, hypoglycemia, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, seizures, headaches, and chronic pain.

Amino acids are divided into two subcategories: essential and nonessential. However, those labels can be misleading, as both are necessary. The liver is able to manufacture the majority of the twenty-one identifiable amino acids. Eight cannot. Therefore, they must be supplied in the diet. These include isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine. Cystein and tyrosine should also be classified as essential because they are derived from the essential amino acids methionine and phenylalnine. The nonessential amino acids histadine and arginine should be considered necessary during growth periods. This is because they cannot be made by the body fast enough to meet the requirements for the accelerated growth of young children.

In order to obtain the best results when using this, or any supplement, it is important to consult your health care provider before beginning any regimen. For more information on the many beneficial effects provided by amino acids, please feel free to consult a representative from your local health food store with questions.
