The Goal of Ayruveda is to Promote Good health

Submitted by swornambigai

Shirodhara, an element of Ayurvedic medicine, has been used for 5,000 years in India but has only recently been "discovered" by Western massage therapists eager to expand their knowledge and client base. Fittingly, shirodhara today combines ancient Ayurvedic wisdom with modern health-and-beauty techniques in a winning spa combination.

The word shirodhara breaks down into two ideas: “shiro,” meaning head, and “dhara,” which means flow. Together they form a concept that aims to bring physical and emotional balance by rejuvenating the spirit and preserving health. Ayurveda, which means "knowledge of life" is a timeless wisdom of the ages. The goal of ayruveda is to promote good health through diet, herbs, healthy lifestyle habits and specialized therapies.

Ayurveda - the “science of life” - applies ancient Indian wisdom to restore and maintain good health, based on the belief that wellness depends on a balance of five elements: space (or sky), air, fire, water, and earth. The five elements intermingle with each other in a definite proportion to form three distinct doshas i.e. Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Their balance in the body is required for healthy body, happy mind and for proper functioning of the sense organ.

Regular shirodhara enhances blood circulation to the brain, improves memory, nourishes hair and scalp, assists in providing sound sleep and calms the body and mind. In Sanskrit language Shirodhara is composed of two words “Shiro” + “dhara”, shiro means head and dhara means flow. In Ayurveda pouring of a liquid such as decoction, medicated milk and its products, sugarcane juice, medicated oils, etc. on the forehead between the eye brows in a continuous stream for a specific period is called shirah-sheka. It is also known as sirodhara. Please Purchase Online http://ayurvedasbeautycare.com
