The Importance of Human Resources

Submitted by employmentcrossingU
Mon, 15 Jun 2009

The human resource is the workforce of the organization. They execute the plan set up by the management. This makes them the most important resource of the organization.

They are valuable because they carry out the goals of the organization. The plans and the forecasts are useless if the organization is unable to make it happen. The labor force listens to instructions and carries it out to meet the target of the company.

They are also important because they are the people who talk to the customers directly. The satisfaction of their customers depends on how the employees treat them. If the employees are not happy with the organization, this will reflect in his performance. This in turn will greatly affect the entire operation of the organization.

Another reason why the human resource is an integral part of the organization is because they represent the organization. The executives may represent the company in meetings, convention, and press releases, but the employees represent the organization in the society. How they feel about the organization they work for reflects on how they talk about it at home and in other social gatherings. If they are happy with the organization, they will wear their uniforms proudly and talk about their offices with pride.

Managing the human resources is not an easy task. If you are the HR manager, you deal with all the employees in your organization. Every, new issues about work relationships arise daily. An employee may file a complaint against his superior or co-worker. They might also encounter various problems like theft or fistfights.

The human resource department has a lot of responsibilities aside from dealing with the problems of the employees. They have to make sure that everyone gets paid on time and that they enjoy the statutory benefits as stipulated by law. They also have to make sure that they hired qualified people who will fill in the needed posts of the organization. Aside from that, they have to conduct trainings that will continue to enhance the capabilities of the employees.

It is also their job to figure out a way to continue to motivate the labor force. As mentioned earlier, an unhappy employee will not be able to represent the interest of the organization well. Instead of generating income, he might cause clients to walk away from the organization.

It is important that the management address the needs of its employees without encouraging mediocrity. It is difficult to achieve this kind of balance. Although the management has to give its employees what they want, the management has to be careful of what to grant. Either the employees can be productive or not when they realize that whatever they want, the management provides.

It is vital that the organization recognizes the importance of its workforce. This is because the employees make the plans happen. They also face the clients of the organization. Most importantly, they reflect the real state of the company.

The human resource department has a lot of responsibilities at hand and they need to carry it out to be beneficial for everyone in the organization.

Organization recognizes the importance of its human resource. This is why most organizations have the HR department to address issues concerning the employees. Read another article on HR Assistant Jobs.
