Submitted by imh.support
Sun, 3 May 2009

How important is testosterone to your health? Unfortunately, many adults have no clue to the answer to this question. Although the word "testosterone" has been at the brunt of many male-related jokes (usually by their women), many don't fully understand the importance of the correct level of testosterone in the male body. The Institute of Men's Health is committed to keeping you informed on issues like testosterone as well as other topics equally importance to men's good health. Not only will the Institute keep you informed but they'll also offer the most appropriate products, treatments or programs to help you with any men's health issues you may have.

Testosterone is a hormone in the male body. It's responsible for much more than just growing hair on your legs and making your voice get deep during puberty. From the time you're a young boy you need testosterone for your body and male sex and reproductive organs to develop properly. The organs and body parts requiring testosterone include testicles, penis, scrotum, seminal vesicles and prostate. Testosterone also helps maintain your fertility, sexual desire, moods and energy levels as well as helping you develop healthy male voice and hair patterns, muscle, fast distribution, bone mass and more. Yes, you may have realized that testosterone is very important to the overall health of the men's body.

The Institute of Men's Health understands that men tend to decrease their production of testosterone as they get older. In fact, over 50 million men have some sort of testosterone deficiency. Although they are different things that may cause testosterone deficiency such as drinking, certain surgeries and diseases, anabolic steroid use and aging, there are also treatments available to help overcome this problem. A deficiency of testosterone may cause problems such as underdeveloped penis as a young man and erectile dysfunction as an adult. The doctors at the Institute can offer you many suggestions to help prevent these problems. Before you give up on what you believe is "a part of aging", contact the Institute and see what they have to offer. You won't be disappointed.
