The Truth about the Emotional Freedom Technique

Submitted by jeffjarred

Human beings live in an ocean of emotion; you may have read a book or seen a film that has brought up tears of sadness or feelings of joy! In most cases these emotions will slowly dissipate and even the film may be forgotten in time, but what of those emotions that linger and cast a shadow over our lives? If you go back thousands of years the Chinese have developed many processes that have been very effective in dealing with powerful feelings and unwanted pain. One of the most popular of these is acupuncture, and it has been proven to work in many areas of health including the emotions.

A new process called the Emotional Freedom Technique is taking the therapy world by storm and it uses the same points as acupuncture, but without the need for needles. Many doctors and other complementary therapists from around the world are taking up this amazing process. The method “that can look a little strange” is helping people overcome powerful emotions and memories. War trauma, phobias and other limitations can be dealt with in a fraction of the time that it would take with conventional therapy.

The Emotional Freedom Technique is simple to learn but mastery in the subject normally comes with a little practice and commitment. The process uses tapping and affirmations simultaneously. So as you use the EFT tapping on the acupressure points, about seven taps, you say out loud an affirmation, an example would be:

“Even though I have this problem I deeply and completely love and accept myself”

This seems simple but when you explore the reasoning behind using what is a negative statement to start off with i.e. this problem that could be a feeling or emotion, and then follow it up with an acceptance statement, you begin to realise how this works directly with the unconscious mind. The art is in coming up with the relevant Emotional Freedom Technique statement that gets to the core of the issue and is not global enough to miss the mark. This is where and experienced practitioner would be able to guide a client in the right direction and achieve greater and quicker results.

This said, twelve year old school children are learning and using this process in the playground and having amazing results. If you would like to learn the art of the Emotional Freedom Technique, you can discover many audios from experienced practitioners and also join with a large and growing community of EFT Tappers by going to the website of the EFT World Magazine at: eftworldmagazine.com

It is great to be able to share this information on the Emotional Freedom Technique and you like me will benefit immensely from this powerful technique. EFT really is the difference that makes the difference when working with your emotions.

The Emotional Freedom Technique “often works where nothing else will”
