People, who suffer from morbid obesity, find it difficult to survive in the world like other people who have a slim and active body to perform all the activities actively. Housewives who suffer from morbid obesity find it difficult to perform all the chores actively and soon. People who suffer with morbid obesity, their efficiency to do work decreases and their life become difficult. People who suffer from morbid obesity are devoid of slim and attractive personality and they do not look beautiful, people stare them when they walk on road, their friends tease them by calling others names, they cannot work actively and they get tired very soon. All these can get them into depression and then some other diseases like high or low blood pressure, heart diseases etc. They have used so many methods to make themselves slim. They have used so many recipes told by their granny, they have done long exercises, they have taken so many medicines, they have used so many products available in market, but nothing worked. Now there is a viable solution for their problem “Lap Band”.
Lap Band is a round structure made up of silicon which is tied on the stomach making a pouch of the stomach, which makes the stomach small. Lap Band work on the principle that overeating can be controlled after dividing the stomach into two parts. When the stomach becomes small it allows lesser amount of food to go in than that usually used to go. As soon as the pouch gets filled, message is sent to the brain by the stomach that it is filled now and no need to eat more. This band is inserted into the stomach by making five small incisions 1.5mm long, this technique is called laparoscopic surgery. Other methods to insert Lap Band can also be used but, laparoscopic surgery is preferred because there is no pain, no longer stay in hospital and there is no cutting and stapling of stomach. Lap Band can be adjusted after the surgery according to need by the surgeon without any further operation. After the surgery they are to take care of their diet also. Some eatable things are forbidden to them like coffee, tea, or soda drink. They should be aware that no caffeine is permitted for the first three months after surgery. Carbonated beverages may cause gas, bloating, and an increase in stomach size due to the carbonation. There may be some side effects also like heart burn and might continuously throw up until the body becomes accustomed to the Lap Band surgery. Before going for Lap Band Laparoscopic surgery they should assure that surgeon must be highly trained. About the Author
