1. Munch vegetable or two fruits before each meal - The fibers in these foods will fill the stomach thus, helping in cutting down on calories from other foods. Also, these provide essential nutrients needed for health maintenance.

2. Have breakfast daily - Refuel your body for the day's activity. Do not starve yourself. Besides, you haven't taken in anything the previous night.

Always know your limitations - When eating, know and apply the basic portions such as half cup of rice (about the fist size), three ounce meat serving (size of the card deck), and one ounce of cheese (large marble). Now, make an imaginary partition on your plate. Its three fourth part should be filled with vegetables, beans, grains, and fruits while the remaining part is the place for low fat dairy products or extra lean meat.

9. Reduce 100 calories from your diet per day - If you are a regular chocolate consumer, you may replace that daily chocolate bar with a fruit such as orange or banana. You will lose one pound in a month while cutting off 100 calories each day.

10. Drink LOTS of water - Cleanse your body. Refresh and revitalize it. Do you know that one glass of pure mineral water each hour does wonders to your body? Studies have found out that such habit helps a weight struggler eat lesser and it does not even make him feel hungry. Indeed, water flushes out all unwanted toxins and wastes in the body. Moreover, it helps in the digestion process. The rule of the thumb is to consume at least two to three liters of water everyday. This is equivalent to eight glasses a day.
