Some people have a hard time gaining some weight, while some people have an even tougher time putting them off. When you're fat, people no longer want to be around you because they feel uncomfortable with how you look and because you eat all of their food. When you're fat, you gain weight and lose friends.

Obesity is a big problem worldwide, pun intended, especially in developing countries which are showing a dangerous trend of their population getting fatter and fatter over the years. The situation is the same in India, where 5% of the population is considered obese, and still counting.

A study by the National Family Health Survey show that the biggest number of obese Indians is in Punjab. In Punjab, 30.3% of males and 37.5% of females are obese. Kerala is second with 24.3% obese males and 34% obese females. Tripura ranks the lowest with 5.2% and 5.3% obese males and females respectively.

This is where weight reduction comes in.

Weight reduction is the act of combining different weight loss techniques in order to lose weight and maintain it within a range based on the individual's age and height. That includes dieting, regular physical exercise, and proper nutrition. For effective weight reduction, you need to focus on all three aspects and not just pick one you like and discard the rest.

Stay on a healthy diet, and participate in active sports such as cricket or soccer to burn fat and build up on muscles. Hopefully you'll be seeing changes in no time.
