What Are The Emotional Changes During Pregnancy?

Submitted by bignm

When you are pregnant, you will go through many emotional changes during the nine months that you are with child. These changes may range from happiness to fear because you will be bringing a new child into this world and you are taking responsibility to raise it. This may cause some restless nights.

But fear of the unknown is not the only cause for emotional changes to take place. You should also learn about physical and chemical changes that are also taking place. This will help you through every stage of your pregnancy.

The First Trimester

While you will be excited upon hearing the news, the chemical changes taking place in your body may cause you to feel anxious or depressed. You will also feel joy and happiness at knowing that you will soon be a parent.

The Second Trimester

It is during this trimester that you will begin to feel more energetic and secure with having a baby. The chemical reactions taking place may cause you to be tired, but overall, you will feel good about being pregnant.

The Third Trimester

This is the last trimester of your pregnancy. Since you will be going to your care provider more often, you will be getting your baby's room ready, and you will be gaining weight, you will feel exhausted more often and you may have back pain and other ailments.

This can cause you to become melancholy, but you will still be happy about your new baby's arrival. Your body may give you intensive emotional swings, that can be handled by some deep breathing and relaxing a few moments.

Being pregnant can be a stressful and emotional experience, but with a little help and knowledge, you will be able to anticipate and control your emotional health in order to have a safe pregnancy.
