Sexual disorders affect both genders, although the condition is more pronounced in women than in men. This is because a woman's body is subjected to various changes that may take its toll on her health and in the long run affect her sexual performance. Moreover, the prevailing wisdom in most societies is that most women are unwilling to discuss their sexual problems. One such problem that women must be willing to discuss in order to correct are orgasmic disorders. Such condition is common among women, particularly affecting 1 out of 5 women.

A female orgasmic disorder is a condition wherein a woman fails to attain a satisfying level of sexual satisfaction especially in an environment where one could have enjoyed having gratifying coitus. In order to understand the essentials of female orgasmic disorder, one should be informed of the proper methods of treatment in order to help cope fully with the disorder.

The Manifestations of Female Orgasmic Disorders

Before one learns about the proper modes of treating and thus coping with orgasmic disorders, one must learn of the different factors causing the problem. Most orgasmic disorders are brought about by tension. Most such tension have to do with the need to balance one's career and the need to take care of the family. In such cases, a woman is torn between having to tend to her own career and the need to look after the welfare of the family.

Other factors such as abuse, age, menopause, smoking, and alcoholic beverage consumption cause orgasmic disorders.

The common manifestations of orgasmic disorders include the following:

1) The most common sign of low sexual desire is when a woman experiences satisfying sexual activity for sometime after which the level of satisfaction that she derives from the activity remarkably dips. Later, she may experience no interest in sex at all.

2) Another common sign of a woman suffering from an orgasmic disorder is when she repeatedly fails to reach orgasm. This is especially true in instances when she could have easily reached it in another setting.

3) Orgasmic disorder is not considered to be a direct result of taking certain medications. However, there are certain sexual performance-related problems that are direct offshoots of taking certain medications.

The Various Ways to Cope Up with Orgasmic Disorders

Every time a female admits to herself experiencing orgasmic disorder, doctors are always apt to suggest some psychological problems as the culprit for the condition. As a result, they commonly suggest counseling as one way of treating the condition. This way, whatever is bothering the woman that affects her sexual function will be identified and tackled. In the end, a woman will get a liberating feeling from her problems and will give her a more enjoyable time with her partner, especially sexually. Some patients can be treated with certain medications. However, the efficiency of such medications remains to be proven.
