Make the Most Out of the Bond While Breastfeeding

Submitted by willard_7ph

We've all heard how important it is for a mother to breastfeed her baby. Although there are many parents that this doesn't really affect, breastfeeding is important to the baby. The greatest fear of breastfeeding is the aching nipples, and this is what drives many mothers to give their baby formula milks. Breastfeeding is extremely important to the baby and no formula in the world can change this. It has always been the best thing for your baby and it will always be. Make the most out of it.

One can term breastfeeding as the most perfect and most important way to bond with your baby. This is crucial in the early stages. Breast milk plays a huge role in helping physical and mental growth of the baby. Apart from this, breastfeeding also increases your little one's immune system. There is a better way to look at breastfeeding your baby. Look at it as a way of guarding or protecting the vulnerable one.

If you put it this way: breastfeeding milk is the perfect food you could ever give your baby. It takes time learning the breastfeeding technique, but once this is mastered you will be greatly rewarded. There are cases where the mother cannot breastfeed her baby because of medical conditions or the baby does not latch onto the nipple properly for some reason. Don't think any less of yourself or at any time feel disheartened.

When the baby latches, you have to make sure the baby takes your entire areola into his/her mouth. If the baby takes in only the nipple this will cause you severe pain and your baby will not be getting the sufficient amount of milk. This is a very common problem to new moms, but this is also a problem that can be easily fixed.

Women also give up on breastfeeding the little one because of the pain. Many, if not all, mothers experience cracked and scabbing nipples during the breastfeeding stages. This is normal. There will even be those times when your nipples could bleed. This should not alarm you, because this is very common. You will also notice that there are products that are made for this problem. Lanolin is a great product that works very well when it comes to repairing sore or cracked nipples. This product also relieves any pain you might experience during breastfeeding.

If you want to be certain that your baby is growing strong and healthy it is important that you watch what you take in. Medications pass through your breast milk; drugs and alcohol as well. Consult your doctor before taking medication, and if you are drinking do so scarcely. It is best to know that no alcohol consumption is the best. Rather be one of those moms on the safe side. If you are conscious about health, it will have a positive outcome on the little one, especially as his or her immune system develops.

Your baby depends on you for everything, so it is up to you to make the right choices.
