3. Should a sick woman breastfeed her baby? - Breastfeeding should not be discontinued even when the mother is sick. Most of the time, the illness is not very severe and does not interfere with breastfeeding. In case, the mother has been hospitalized and the baby is not permitted to remain with the mother, the mother should express her milk and give it to the baby.
