The pockets are connected together to form the bigger spring unit, which allows the mattress to fully support the body and totally adopt the bodyline, giving a better support from head to toe. This spring system is considered to be the best of the category. One possible disadvantage of this type of spring system is that it is expensive.

Non-Spring Mattresses

• Natural Latex
Natural Latex is a hypoallergenic and anti-microbial material, which is particularly helpful for people who have respiratory problems. Latex also moulds perfectly to the body giving greater comfort, and good neck and back support. Water based latex is a good material available in the category. • Memory Foam/Visco Elastic
This is the most popular mattress. Originally developed by NASA, visco elastic contains millions of microscopic memory pockets, which slowly react to body heat and weight allowing the body to partially immerse, whilst moulding to the body.
