Eco Boxes: The Green Solution to the Most Basic Storage, Moving and Shipment Needs

Eco boxes have become the answer to the challenge of using less paper and encouraging the practice of recycling -- and for good cause. Everyday, someone somewhere is using at least one box for some purpose and the likelihood that this box would end up in a landfill is quite high. While boxes are indispensable for many homes and offices, only a few actually undergo recycling. The problem is that it takes several years for a single box to decompose, potentially placing more burden on landfills. By using eco boxes, people can readily reduce the demand for new paper-based products and reduce the use of materials such as plastic and virgin wood pulp.

What are eco boxes?
Eco boxes are recycled boxes, made from scrap paper, newspaper and old or unused boxes. They are 100% recycled, meaning they only contain materials that are sourced from used or surplus boxes and paper products. Some eco boxes may also contain other materials such as recycled plastic and fiberboard. These are often used to reinforce the box and ensure its strength.

Eco boxes have grown in popularity over the years, thanks to the drive for people to be more eco-friendly and to the improved quality of these products. Eco boxes are now being sold in standard sizes, with some made available through customized orders. They are often found in specialty shops and major retail and service stores, supermarkets, storage and moving companies.

Why use eco boxes?
Eco boxes offer several advantages. They are generally cheaper than boxes made from virgin pulp by at least 35%. That translates to great savings for end users, especially those with high demand for boxes.

Eco boxes are sourced from manufacturers, so overruns, damaged or discontinued box designs are not put to waste. Companies that regularly use boxes as part of their business, such as moving and storage companies, are also suppliers of boxes that are later recycled, sold and rented out as eco boxes.

Another advantage of eco boxes is that many moving companies often offer their customers a buy-back guarantee. Once the customer has used the box, the company will offer to purchase the product back. Depending on the condition or other prevailing terms, the company will pay back 100% of the original price or buy the box back at a discount.

To promote the use of eco boxes further, many companies offer them as rentals, particularly for moving purposes. Rental boxes are built with tougher materials for better support and to ensure that they last longer. Many consumers choose rental eco boxes because they are returnable and cheaper than brand new boxes.

Eco boxes are also an excellent alternative to virgin pulp boxes. Although most people contend that virgin pulp boxes are stronger due to longer paper fibers, eco boxes have become sturdier and tougher over the years. Today, many consumers are opting for these ecologically-sound boxes not just for their price and their purpose but also for their function.
