Exploring the Various Use Options for Your Garden Room

Submitted by Chriss Tyrrell

The problem with the garden outbuildings that most people have adjacent to their homes, is that they're unfinished. That is that they see the framing and the basic enclosure done but they never make an effort to have the actual interior of the garden room completed. They simply have a narrow, one dimensional view of how their building is to be used and that view doesn't include a finished & detailed interior.

A Broader More Multi-Functional View of the Garden Room

A shed to store tools or building materials in or a workroom for messy or dirty projects that can't be done in the home. Repairs and painting etc. Of course this shouldn't be taken as a blanket statement because there are a growing number of people today who are taking a broader view of the once humble garden room or outbuilding. A view that's leading to these rooms to now being used for a variety of uses.

A Much Better Place to Conduct Productive Business

Of course the first thing that comes to mind is the garden office. A place to develop and cultivate business plans or to better work on a business that's already ongoing. A quite place, far more conducive to productive thinking and the privacy that's needed to produce good cost effective and quantitative results.

A Peaceful Place to Have All To Yourself

Even housewives and working mothers are now converting the family's detached garden room into a place that they can simply "retreat" to from time to time. They can talk on the phone interrupted, watch TV or do whatever. So what's wrong with having a little time to yourself after you've spent an entire day looking after everyone else's needs?

A Place for the Young and the Young At heart To Play

Then some families are discovering that an outdoor unattached playroom for the kids is just what was needed to finally bring peace and quiet to a home. A nice padded floor and a desk or two that they can do their school work on. Then they can turn the TV up as loud as they want and it doesn't bother a soul. By the way, on the same topic many a garden room has also served double duty as a room for the man of the house.

A Designated Place for Men to Do "Man Things"

A nice private detached enclosure where he can smoke and drink with his friends after work in the afternoons and on weekends and be no bother to anyone. One of the best accessory items to get for this type of adult "playhouse" is a small refrigerator to keep drinks and adult refreshments cold. Add a microwave oven and he and his friends can even heat their own snacks.

Green Studios manufacture and install a range of garden rooms made from sustainable materials. The range is ideal for use as a home office or music studio. Visit the website for more details.
