It's not exactly a secret that Frisco is growing. It's hard not to notice when a city's population more than triples in size over the span of a few years. So what's responsible for the booming popularity of Frisco real estate? Do those DFW residents who are buying up the homes for sale in Frisco know something we don't?
Visitors to Frisco know exactly what Frisco has to offer - it's all about modern furniture, designer look handbags, and DFW's largest mall. Home goods retailer IKEA recently set up shop in Frisco, drawing mobs of shoppers who are hungry for both bargains and the tasty Swedish meatballs available in the mega store's impressive café. Just down the street resides a Dallas deal hunter's best pal Sam Moon. Sam Moon Trading Co.'s enormous Frisco location is filled nearly to the roof with purses, jewelry, and other accessories, most designer-inspired, at rock-bottom prices. If that's not enough, Stonebriar Centre in Frisco offers even more shopping - Nordstrom, Dillard's, and Macy's are the mall's anchor stores.

Not everyone coming to Frisco is there for the shopping, though. Pizza Hut Park plays host to sporting events and outdoor concerts, frequently selling out for big name acts. The Dallas Stars also practice in Frisco, and it's also home base for a minor league baseball team.

But are shopping and big events enough to draw so many new residents to Frisco? Probably not. What residents, new and old, point out most frequently about Frisco is that the city values itself as more than just a gateway to Dallas. Evidence of this lies in the fact that Frisco residents recently chose to allocate a percentage of local sales tax to internal developments instead of DART light rail service. So, shopaholics who live in Frisco are actually giving back, in a way, when they hit up IKEA and Sam Moon!

It's growing, but not too big. It's close enough for a commute to downtown Dallas, but not too close. It offers great dining - and, yes, shopping - without being an overcrowded urban jungle.
