Water Garden Pumps and their usesSubmitted by Gardner Wed, 8 Jul 2009
What are water garden pumps?
Garden pumps are required to move water in a pond. It may be for a fountain, waterfall or a filter that you will need a pump. Since all these functions need different pump characteristics there are pumps with different features available in the market. Fountain Pumps are required to be stable and is also required to operate efficiently for longer periods without the need for regular maintenance. Waterfall & Garden Pumps: Waterfall and Garden Pumps are required to pump semi clean water to avoid blocking the fountain jet. They are also required to pump large volumes of water in an efficient manner. This water may be mixed with some solid particles. Thus it does not necessarily mean that water garden pumps require being free from solid particles. Filter Pumps require working for longer periods of time in order to operate. They become a part of the life support system for the water garden since they are very reliable. All water gardens need to be aerated properly. There are not many cost-effective method of improving aeration but some pumps really do the needful in spite of their reasonable price. If the water garden is properly aerated, then it remains healthier all the year round. During the cold wintry days the air pump maintains an ice free area for healthy gaseous exchange process. The basic features of the water garden pumps are the following: * Compact and Powerful Since most water garden pumps comprise an electro-magnet, which act upon permanent magnets. It provides a perfectly-balanced vibration. * Reliable The water garden pumps comprise an actuating rod which is supported by special synthetic rubber diaphragms that vibrate laterally, permitting long-term continuous operation. * Ultra Quiet Operation In the water garden pumps all the internal moving parts are rubber-spaced. This is done especially in order to eliminate vibration. There is also a sturdy, thick-walled metal casing which ensures silent operation. * Low Energy Consumption The operation of the garden water pump is based upon the principle of electro-magnetic vibration and there is no need for sliding parts. As a result there is minimized power consumption. In spite of that the efficiency is maintained. It is also a long-term reliability. * No Lubrication Necessary There is no requirement for lubrication and therefore no sliding parts are there. As an additional advantage the exhausted air is always clean and it is ideal to be used in the environments where clean air is necessary.
