Bakugan Battle Gear In a BrawlSubmitted by Anna Poelo Thu, 27 May 2010
One of the new and exciting additions to the third installment of the Bakugan series is the Bakugan Battle Gear. It's a new weapon for the Bakugan, and acts as a support in the brawls just like a Bakugan Trap. They take the form of guns, weaponed wings, cannons, and more when opened. When in their closed form, they take different forms from the usual Bakugan balls, as they are shaped as anything other than a ball.
Aside from having different closed and open forms from the usual Bakugan, the battle gears also have a different set of attributes. The rest of the Bakugan go along with the main set of attributes --- Pyrus (red/fire), Aquos (blue/water), Haos (white/light), Darkus (black/darkness), Subterra (brown/land), Ventus (green/wind). The Bakugan Battle Gear go with only three atrributes: Gold, Silver, and Copper. Choosing Your Battle Gear You will have to choose your battle gear first before even playing in a brawl. The main rule for a brawler using Bakugan Battle Gear is that he or she can only use up to two supports. So it'll be either two battle gears, two traps, or one battle gear and one trap. More than two would be out of bounds of the rules in brawling. In choosing their battle gear, brawlers would usually go for the battle gear with the highest G-power level. Choosing a battle gear that matches with your Bakugan's attribute is also a good way to pick out your battle gear, no matter how much its G-power is. Pair up a Ventus Bakugan with a green battle gear, or a Pyrus Bakugan with a red battle gear. Of course, you can also mix and match your Bakugan with two different attributes, with the help of the special abilities on the Battle Gear Reference Cards. This strategy allows you to be flexible in brawling so it is also favored by many brawlers. Brawling With Your Battle Gear You use the Bakugan battle gear by opening it on a Gate Card or putting it on the back of a Bakugan. There are Bakugan with handles on the back to hold the battle gear on their backs. For the Bakugan without these handles, like the Bakugan from the past series, you can just use the Gate Card to open them and use them in the brawl. Don't forget about the Battle Gear Reference Card, too. It's a card that comes with every battle gear. It's not necessary to use the Reference Card all the time. But you can use it to boost your Bakugan with G-powers and have additional abilities. Given the differences of the Bakugan Battle Gear from the Core Bakugan and the rest, it would only be natural that there would be a different set of rules in using the battle gears in a brawl. The difference is only small, however. Ultimately, the main point of the battle gears is that they function like the Bakugan Trap, and they are moved around the game just like the regular Bakugan.
