Basics of Dollhouse Wallpaper
Once you have painted the interior of an entire kit you will realize the value of covering the walls with wallpaper. Not only will the walls have a cute and distinct pattern, but the job will be done in a fraction of the time. There are many websites online that will give you some great ideas and options with dollhouse wallpaper. Because you are looking to cover a relatively small area, you should look at getting 1 or 2 square feet at a time. You can also print off your own wallpaper. There are websites that will give you free wall paper prints, just start searching for them!If you are in to scrap booking you should have all the materials that you need. Remember, you learn by doing, so start with something simple and create something amazing. Miniatures and Contrast: Beauty with an Edge The idea of contrast is to great stark differences between colors, furniture, textures in order to draw attention to the action. Using contrast works well to move your eye to a certain location of the room, or in a predetermined pattern. For the best color contrast look at a color wheel and choose colors that are opposite one another. When dealing with color contrast remember that it is easy to over due it and come out cluttered. In order to prevent yourself from creating a mess, focus on setting up one contrasting element in the room and no more. Floor Trim for your Dollhouse Everyone likes to tweak there dollhouses from time to time. The last dollhouse that I was making I discovered a great addition that really made my interior stand out. I discovered the importance of having trim around your floor. Floor Trim is not a new creation, but what I found is instead of buying it, to use a very thin balsa wood found in most craft stores. I applied this balsa wood to the floor of each of my walls to form a great outline along the bottom. I was most impressed to not see any more tiny cracks between the wall and the flooring due to the trim covering it up. Another great thing about the trim is that it covers the edges of the wallpaper and prevents fraying. This discovery truly was a small one, but I believe that it really added to my dollhouse. Lighting your way to a great look If you have completed a kit, furnished it, and are looking for another adventure then try lighting. Adding Lights removes your miniature set from being just another toy to a display item that will sit no longer in the toy box, but on the living room mantel. Lighting your kit can be a fun yet challenging time. In all reality, would we enjoy it if it wasn't a challenge?First of all the basics are simply hooking up lighting from a plug to a light. In addition to that you are given instructions and help in setting it up. Don't expect to do it perfect the first time, try it out, make a mistake and learn from it. When you start with your first kit, get a small one just so you don't overwhelm yourself, something small and easy. Remember if in your mind it is too hard then you are correct.
