How To Spot a Fake Bakugan

Submitted by Anna Poelo

With the many Bakugan products circulating around the Web today, it is not surprising that there are fakes distributed among them. Along with these came complaints and frustration from the Bakugan collectors and lovers. Let's face it. No one wants to own a fake. So in buying Bakugan products, here are some tips that will help us avoid the fake ones and stick to the real ones.

Packaging: First, there is the packaging. By looking at the packaging only, we can sometimes determine that the Bakugan is fake. A name different from "Bakugan" and a packaging design different from the real one are very obvious signs. There are many packages that go by "Burst-Egg" or "Bomb Ball" and these are considered fake. We should also check for the copryright statement and the company logos of Spin Master and Sega Toys, the producers of Bakugan. Without the copyright or the logos, the Bakugan is surely a fake.

Color and Attribute: The next thing to check in order to determine whether or not a Bakugan is fake is its description. The Bakugan would be fake if its color is not the same as is general. For example, you found a Bakugan with a subterra attribute, but is colored with a very dark brown. This Bakugan would be fake. Now if you get a Bakugan with a Pyrus attribute but is colored blue, obviously the Bakugan is a fake. Aside from the consistency of the color and attribute, you should also take a closer look at the attribute itself. Fake Bakugan usually make a mistake with its attributes, making a circular end rather than a sharp point, for instance.

Size and Markings: If the Bakugan is not the right ball size, if it is bigger or smaller than the B1, or B2, or B3 size it should be, then it is fake. The balls have a certain diameter according to its B-size. Any sizes other than these are considered fake (except the Deka Bakugan). We should also take a look at the screws used to hold the Bakugan. Real Bakugan have screws with a triangular dent. If the screws on the Bakugan are cross-shaped, then that Bakugan is fake. Another to watch out for is the magnet used in the ball. If the magnet is exposed, then it is fake. Real Bakugan have the magnets hidden inside.

There is also the matter of the G-Power marks and codes written on the Bakugan ball. Look at the G-power closely and see if it is written clearly and compactly. It is fake if it is otherwise, if the font is thin and tall. There are also Bakugan where the G-Power is in sticker form, and this definitely tells us that the Bakugan is fake. There are also the embedded serials on the ball. The Bakugan is fake if it does not have the copyright code "@s/s/b" embedded on it.

These are the most important and obvious things to watch out for when looking for real Bakugan. It is important that you get to see a picture of the real Bakugan first before you go around purchasing it online. Knowing how a specific Bakugan looks like can help you determine if it's fake or not at first glance. The rest of the tests stated above will come when you take a closer look at the Bakugan product you wish to purchase.
