It becomes a necessary activity when snow needs to be cleared from places like the driveway, landlocked side streets, from wheels or underside of a car, walking pathways, playing ground or indeed the conservatories. If done for the former, normally it involves children, while the later involves adults. Snow resorts can offer common snow activities popular to all ages but some are more appropriate for adults. These range from snowballing, making snowman, skating, snowboarding, snow skiing;over christmas possibly santa claus very own sleigh. They all carry a high degree of risk and snow safety tips are essential.Snowmobiling safety knowlege is a bonus!

The most common problem relates to strain to chest muscles. This makes it an extremely dangerous activity especially to people with an undelying medical problem like heart disease, high blood pressure and also those with respiratory system problems.Such people should carefully consider their safety in the snow
To be safe in carrying out this activity, its important to have the right tools and necessary snow safety equipment. This includea stable shovel and most importantly decide whether its really necessary.Survival on snow is dependent on good judgemet. Other alternatives should be sought first as it is indeed a dangerous activity.Avoid Shovelling on heights like rooftops or by tree wells. This is because the snow may slide as a huge block which is out of control and may fall on those nearby. Its important to be aware of dangers like of frostbite.
Proper attire must be worn, preferably made from wool, and waterproof or something similar. Where young ones are involved, a responsible adult should supervise the activity. Signs of possible extreem cold would be a flushed face, red nose, and possibly runny nose.If this is observed, the participants should take a break .Accommodation in the snow can be hard to find.If not near home, warmth can be safely provided in a tent.Where an actual medical emergency arises, appropriate action should be taken.
Adults maybe reluctant to take a break when they experience chest pain. The pain may be the strain of the snow shoveling activity.Other times it maybe an onset of heart related chest pain.ignoring it may add you to statistic of snow perisher. Call your GP or call an ambulance. Other possible problems relate to falls on the slipperly surface. A fracture maybe sustained. In such instances its better to wait for medical assistance. Unless you have the know how, imobilising and snow safety equipment/appliances,do not attempt to move.
