If you are looking to purchase an air conditioning system, no doubt you have come across a machine known as an inverter. Inverter air conditioning systems are everywhere nowadays, but most people don't know what an inverter is and what an inverter does. Below are the 4 main benefits of an inverter hvac system.

1) Quieter Operation - The compressor on an inverter is usually a few decibels quieter than a standard unit. This means less noise gets into both you and your neighbors homes which is a benefit. They are especially beneficial in homes where you are relatively close to your neighbors home.

2) Less Strain On Materials - These systems usually have soft starting devices which ensures all components of the air conditioner will have a long life. This reduced wear and tear increases the life of the product.

3) Minimal Energy Use - Inverters have been claimed to be anywhere form about 30% to 50% cheaper to run than a noon-inverter air conditioning system. This means the time to pay back the initial extra purchase cost ranges from about 2 years to 5 years depending on running habits and use.

4) More Power - Inverters are usually more powerful than standard systems. The only drawback of this is if you push your system too hard to it's extremes (e.g. by setting a extremely low or high temperature) it may actually cost more to run than a standard system.

They were the 4 main benefits of an inverter air conditioner. Inverter systems can cost a little more than a non-inverter upfront, but they are certainly worth the extra expense in the long run.
