Cheap Solar Power

Submitted by Food Reviews
Sat, 19 Dec 2009

You really feel like you've arrived in life when you can afford your own home and a second vacation home besides. It's lovely to have a little cabin in the woods or a cottage in the mountains where you can retreat on weekends or for longer times during the year.

Then you can have your city or suburban life part of the time and a rural experience the rest of the time, giving you the best of both worlds. However, country cabins by definition are in remote places. You don't want to see power lines when you step outside your door, just as you probably don't want to see cars riding by your little haven.

That means you either can't get power for your second place or the expense of getting it will be prohibitive. You probably don't want to do without power. After all, we want to rough it some, but we really weren't thinking about giving up all creature comforts! The solution is to do what people call going off-grid. You can have power for your television and necessary appliances, but you don't have to have your power come through the electric wires.

You can find cheap alternative methods that harness natural forces of the universe. It's called renewable energy. Renewable power is what we're looking for, both for the well-being of our planet and our pocketbooks.

You may have to make an initial outlay of money, but then your needs for energy are met for the rest of your time at that place. It's easy to do a search and find information about solar power.

When the sun shines, you've got energy being made with no bills to pay to the electric company. But what about when the sun isn't shining? You an also install wind power so that when the sun isn't available, the wind is and these two sources can play off each other.

With a little research and some know how, you two can find alternative sources of energy that will make your life in your country home truly a little bit of paradise.
