Closet Accessories You're Sure to LoveSubmitted by Ellen Hamm Wed, 31 Aug 2011
It can be hard to tell which closet accessories will be most useful and last the longest. Looking for quality craftsmanship is very important. On the other hand, some may be sturdy and last a long time, but they may not match your décor or fit into your vision of what your closet should look like. If you want to make your closet a luxurious place to visit, you need to consider some of the higher end accessories that make keeping it organized an easier and more beautiful task. Use these tips to help you decide which closet accessories might be right for your taste and your needs.
1) Choosing your clothes hangers should be something that is well thought out. This is probably the most important decision you'll make for your closet besides what type of shelving to use. If you have wooden shelving, wire shelving, or built-in custom designed shelving, you don't want your hangers to clash. There are many to choose from. 2) Determine how the hangers you are looking at are meant to be used. If your closet is cramped, you may need to choose ones that save extra space by cascading or grouping like items together. There are some with hanging bars for pants, clips for skirts, and curvature for suits. Different ones have different functions. Carefully read descriptions before you decide. Make a list of your favorite designs based on what types of clothing you have to hang. 3) Choose non-slip surfaces if you are tired of your clothing falling off and ending up on the floor. Pant bars can be coated with rubber or other non-slip surfacing. If you choose clips, make sure that they don't have ragged edges that snag or metal-on-metal ends without pads that can mark your clothes. Some metal hangers can rust or stain clothes with the clips. Choose high quality chrome hangers over wire ones for sturdy hanging that won't bend, but saves tons of space. 4) Cedar hangers are a classic favorite. You may even choose to line your closet in cedar. This type of wood absorbs moisture and prevents musty smells. It doesn't cover up odors, but actually deodorizes your closet full-time. It also repels pests, such as moths and cockroaches that can damage your wardrobe and cost you a lot of money. 5) Try to choose hangers that help you organize while protecting your clothes. Clothes hangers that help you to stay organized will be the most useful thing you can put in your closet. You can get a bikini hanger, a single clip hanger, comforter hangers, and more to help keep your closet organized and looking fabulous with very little effort.
