There are wired doorbells and wireless doorbells. Wired doorbells are more dependable while wireless models are more convenient. There is not much difference in the price. Between the two, what does your home needs?

If you are going for a wireless doorbell, you should take note of the range. Typically, wireless doorbells have a range of more or less 125 feet. This is good enough for the normal American home. If you own a mansion, it logically follows that you need a longer range. Long range wireless doorbells can go up to 450 feet.

Since you are going to hear the sound every time a person comes to your doorstep, you may as well pick a sound that is, sorry for the cliché, music to your ears. Thanks to technology, you have more choices than the classic “ding dong”.
