home theater systemSubmitted by kelvin Thu, 3 Jan 2008
Designing your home theater system is getting more exciting all the time. Generally speaking, a home theater system is a combination of electronic components designed to recreate the experience of watching a movie in a theater. They are much more invasive as compared to the old stereo systems of the past. Some people might say that a home theater system is synonymous with home entertainment. They are set to give you years of entertainment. Buying a new home theater system is a big decision, and with so many options available, how do you decide which one is right for you.
In fact, one of the joys or challenges, depending on your perspective of putting together a home theater system is figuring which combination of products best meets your needs. The first thing to realize with any type of home theater system is that there are varying levels of audio and video quality and those quality levels are determined by many different factors, some of which are inter-related and some of which are not. A home theater system is where both audio and video work together to produce a cinema experience in the comfort of your own home. Setting up a home theater system is a matter of selecting the right equipment for your needs and then connecting it properly. Speakers, these are the most important components of a home theater system. Speakers that are more expensive will sound better as they are able to recreate subtle high and low tones, and have richer and deeper bass. Speakers are crucial to the sound quality you need. The good high-end home theater surround speaker package, includes uniquely styled satellite speakers that offer versatile mounting options while retaining a solid heavyweight cast-aluminum build. A proper surround-sound field requires a minimum of five speakers placed in specific locations at recommended heights relative to your seating position. Wireless home theater systems afford the owner the opportunity to come home and relax and not having to contend with tons of wires spread across the room. The sheer cosmetic beauty of the wireless home theater system is another reason why people are going down this road full steam ahead. In addition, you can get the system installed in a jiffy, and you will not even need to call in an electrician and the system also works just like a remote control does. Home theater systems with wireless rear speakers, and/or subwoofers, use wireless transmitters and receivers to send signals from your home theater receiver to the rear speakers. First of all, wireless speakers need their own amplifier and power supplyand the wireless speakers' receiver needs to be plugged into a wall outlet. Since the wireless speakers use a receiver to receive the signal from the main system, it is possible that electric appliances, phones, etc, may interfere with their output and/or cause distortion. So, if you were in the market for a home theater system, you would be well advised to walk the wireless route and save yourself a lot of botheration while also not having to ever regret making such a decision. No matter which brand of wireless home theater system you choose, there is no doubting the fact that these systems are becoming a major source of entertainment in more and more homes.
