How to avoid odor in sandals

Submitted by fashionhanker

Many people choose to wear sandals in warm weather since this type of footwear keeps their feet cool and comfortable. Wearing a pair of sandals that stinks in a crowd may make you feel embarrassed. Your feet are easy to get sweaty in hot days. This is more likely to cause odor or even lead to foot-health problems such as athlete's foot. So it is essential to take care of your sandals properly. Here are some useful tips that will help you keep your pairs smell free.

The most important thing is to keep your feet clean. It is recommended that you use some good antibacterial soap to scrub your feet and clean in between the toes. Wipe your feet after you finish washing them. Remember not to wear sandals with wet feet for this can cause quick odor formation.

Apply some antiperspirants to prevent odor if your feet sweat excessively. Products like antibacterial gels and antifungal powders are available to help you inhibit the bacterial growth in your sandals. Besides, you also can spray your sandals with disinfectants or deodorizers that are specially designed to avoid odor in your pair and keep your feet healthy at the same time.

Make sure to dry them in the air or under sunlight but not in direct sunlight after you worn them every time. This is a good way to kill the bacteria and keep your sandals smell free. You also can spray baking soda on your pair and leave overnight after every wear.

It is suggested that you purchase sandals that are made from breathable materials to keep your feet dry.
