Key Components of a Vacuum Cleaner Forum

Internet forums can be a useful place to gather information and gain insight on many different topics. Building a forum gives people a place to exchange ideas and interact on its subject matter. Building a vacuum cleaner forum is a complex task and will only succeed if the right components are added to insure a good flow of information, and that the information is presented in an easy to understand way. The four key areas to focus on when building the vacuum forum are, an easy to navigate layout, an organized hierarchy of vacuum cleaner topics, expert information, and ongoing moderation. Without these components the forum will confuse people and detract users over the long term.

An easy to navigate layout is important so that users can easily find the pertinent information they are looking for in the least amount of time. A good layout should start a definitive title and an easy to navigate control bar that includes links to all the user controls of the forum at the top of the page. The forum colors should be carefully picked out using colors that are easy on the eyes with more important areas highlighted in darker colors. The vacuum cleaner topic listing area should be spaced apart neatly with dividers or opposing colors separating each topic. Each vacuum cleaner topic should clearly list the number of threads or sub topics and the number of posts in each thread. This will help the user determine which areas have the most information. A good way to help users find categories of relevance is to condense the most recent post of each category and list it below the category description. A large help to users is to have some kind of breadcrumb structure to indicate to the user the level or subcategory they are currently using making it easier to navigate from level to level. The bottom of the page is a great place to list less relevant data such as user’s currently online, forum statistics such as number of posts, members currently online, and relevant links to additional vacuum cleaner information.

An organized directory structure is probably the most important element in running a successful vacuum cleaner forum. The world of vacuum cleaners contains a lot of information making it imperative for topics and sub topics to be well structured. A good hierarchical structure is a great way to divide information up making it easy for the user to find the relevant topics quickly and easily. Main categories should be broad in topic with sub categories narrowing down information to specific niches about vacuum cleaners. A great way to accomplish an easy to follow directory structure is to create categories based on vacuum cleaner manufacturers and comprise sub categories with elements of each of those manufacturers.

Expert information or input is an added bonus to any vacuum forum. Expert input is key to ensure that technical information on each vacuum cleaner question or post is accurate, in turn providing the best data possible to the users. Expert feedback such as a vacuum cleaner technicians input makes the vacuum cleaner forum information credible boosting and increasing the forums reputation as a great place to gain vacuum cleaner knowledge. Having an expert in subject matter of a forum is a great way to answer or clarify answers from other users.

Moderation is a key component to running an efficient forum and keeping the subject matter on topic. Many forums can get out of control when subject matter that is non relevant to the forum is allowed to get posted. Having good moderators and administrators for any forum can keep pertinent information flowing in threads, and reorganize user input into the correct categories. Good moderation can also cut down on inappropriate language and ban disruptive users from the forum making it more of a pleasant place to get great information
