Luxury Closets

When you think of luxury closets, what do you imagine? Beauty, organization, and efficiency come to mind for most. There are a lot of design options on the market today. Review these luxury closet descriptions to help you decide what to look for in your luxury closet design.

First, decide what type of feel you want your closet to have. Do you prefer the calm, traditional feeling of solid woods and cedar hangers? Or would you rather see a closet with a minimalist design that features a sturdy metal hanger? There are a lot of in-between options, so you might want to look around and see what type of closet system grabs your attention most.

Some closet systems are so beautiful that you may not want to hide them in a closet. Many companies call these "wardrobe closets". They are like a closet outside of the closet. They really take the place of dressers. Wardrobe systems can be put in a corner or blank wall of your room. You can build it or design it around a window if you'd like. Then you can place your make-up table directly under the window. You can use natural light to put on your make-up from this area.

There are certain components that you should consider if you want your closet system to have a luxurious feel. One is the valet bar. Valet bars stay hidden until you pull them out. They can be used to temporarily hang suits, coats and clothing while you dress.

Another luxury to have is shallow drawers. Shallow drawers hold ties, socks, underwear, jewelry, make-up, and any other small item that needs storage. Slightly deeper drawers or bins can hold undergarments and pajamas.

Opt for multiple, shorter hanging bars over one long one. Breaking up sections of clothes not only helps you stay organized, but they look nice and give the system texture and depth. Place shelves directly above bars to keep dust from settling on the shoulders of your clothes. Here you can place your brief case, laptop, baskets or books. Baskets that slide in and out like drawers give the closet system a warm touch that softens the sharp, distinct edges of wood or metal systems. Canvas bins can add color if you would like to brighten it up a bit.

Don't overlook including cabinets in your design. You will probably want a cabinet large enough to hold a laundry basket. A swinging door can be used as a laundry chute. This is perfect for concealing laundry. Other cabinets can be used to hold your iron, steamer, extra hangers or hanger accessories (such as clips), photos, craft supplies, hats and bags. Shoes can also be kept out of sight by designing a system that houses them inside of a cabinet.

Choose the hangers that match your closet system. Make sure that you get top of the line, sturdy hangers. You can choose satin lingerie hangers, wooden hangers, cedar hangers or metal hangers. Specialty hangers keep your clothing from becoming misshapen, snagged or crammed close together. When your closet incorporates these elements, it'll be a luxury to have in your home.
